Raising the Bar and Closing the Gap at Epiphany

Epiphany has been working hard to continually educate our staff members. Robin Watson, our Director of Career Development, has taken the lead in furthering knowledge and experience amongst our team. As we align with CoSN, our Team Leads are beginning the CETL certification process. In order to become CETL certified, our team must first internally prepare.

According to CoSN's website, the CETL is the first-ever aspirational certification for education technology leaders. It is based on a body of knowledge defining the skill areas critical to today’s education technology leaders: leadership and vision; understanding the educational environment, and managing technology and support resources.

To prepare our team for full certification, Robin has begun hosting our new Team Lead Academy. This collaborative learning program is fostering a closer community amongst Team Leads and providing a mentoring and support system while educating our leadership team. All of our Team Leads are participating in the Team Lead Academy that results in CETL certification.

Topics Covered in the Team Lead Academy:
-Leadership & Vision
-Strategic Planning
-Ethics & Policies
-Instructional Focus & Professional Development
-Team Building & Staffing
-Stakeholder Focus
-IT Management
-Business Management
-Data Management
-Communication Sytems 

These topics are all instructed via small group discussions, individualized training, an online course, and whole group collaboration. Beginning in October, our internal online course will begin and leaders will soon after be fully certified.

It is important to Epiphany to keep our team up to date on the latest technology and education trends and tactics. Even though the state doesn’t require continuing education, we do! Epiphany takes pride in the efforts that our team continually makes to be a better resource for our clients each and every day.
